He obtained his MBBS degree from the prestigious Karnataka Institute of Medical Sciences, Hubli and obtained his MD degree from Command Hopsital Air Force, Bangalore. He also served Indian Armed Forces as Short Service Commission Medical Officer and worked in the border areas of URI and Siachen Glacier.
